Well its official (it was official 30 days ago) - 2015 is done and gone but that means a 2015 Favourites blog post, so here it is:
During 2015 I searched high and low for the perfect foundation, I loved my Rimmel Match Perfection but I wanted something new therefore tried the popular L’Oréal True Match foundation which I love because of the light weight formula which gives light-medium coverage. On the other side of the scale (coverage wise) is the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation +concealer. That’s a mouthful. This foundation has tons of pigmentation and you can easily build it up without it looking cakey. (Helpful tip- I like to apply a very thin moisturiser or silicon based primer because it makes it easier to blend). Speaking of primer I’m in love with the benefit Porefessional primer. I know, I know, I’m a little late with this primer but I assure you if you have tried it you will know what I’m talking about. I think it’s great if you have oily/blemish prone skin with large pores because this mattifys but doesn’t make dry up your skin and it lets makeup smooth over flawlessly.
To end with, base wise, I have the L’Oréal True Matchpowder, although I don’t particularly love this for setting my face in the morning, it is perfect for touching up during the day. The packaging of this product is also perfect for that; this smooths onto skin and helps mattify the face as well as add coverage if some has slipped off throughout the day.
Don’t worry I don’t have as many face and eye products as I do for face (otherwise this blog post would be endless). Regarding eyebrows, mine are extremely sparse because I have fine eyelashes and eyebrow hairs; so to help me with that situation I use the Sleek Brow Kit in Extra Dark. I only use the wax because I find that the power us too light and red-toned to match my hair but this is perfect for shaping and I normally just add a bit of power to set the wax.
My love for cream eyeshadows is no secret because if I just use powder it doesn’t stay on AT ALL. So the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in CreamyBeige is always in my makeup bag. It’s creamy blendable and the perfect essential brown.
A new discovery is theNo7 Dramatic Lift mascara. I’ve only had this for about two months but I instantly fell in love. It gives my lashes a wispy but not clump look and makes them looks very fluttery.
I only have one cheek product and it is my beloved Sleek FaceForm Palette in Light. As you can tell I’ve used the contour shade to death and the highlighter is a great universal shade that will suit most skin tones.
Finally I have brushes, they happen to all be from Real Techniques because they are great quality and are just as good as most high end brushes. I use the buffing brush for foundation and it gives a light and skin-like texture, however if you wanted to build up the coverage you can easily stipple it on and press it into the skin instead of buffing. I like using the Duo Fibre brush for highlighter because it prevents me from going overboard and looking like a disco ball in natural daylight because to be honest I can barely see what I’m doing at 6:30 in morning as its pitch black outside. Lastly is the Essential Crease Brush and the answer is all in the name, it blends out cream and powder eyeshadows and is the perfect size for my small Asian eyes.
Thank you so much for reading my first favourites post of 2016, hope to see you soon.
