Festive Makeup Look
With only 4 days till Christmas I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share a festive makeup look that you could wear to any Christmas or new years party. Although I wouldn’t wear this look on the Christmas day (the lipstick wouldn’t stand a chance against the roast potatoes, gravy and turkey) I think this would be great to wear during the run to Christmas.
Primer is essential for times like this, you want your makeup to last all day and night. So I’m using the Mac Prep + Prime in neutral along with the Rimmel Lasting Perfection foundation and a beauty blender. For concealer I’m using the Mac Prolong wear and for under my eyes the Rimmel Wake Me Up using a concealer brush to blend everything in. To prevent oil I’m using my trusty Seventeen Miracle Matte Powder with a Seventeen Cheek Brush.
For cheeks I’m keeping it simple by adding a small amount of bronzer to warm up my complextion; to do this I used the Bourjois chocolate bronzer and Real Techniques blush brush, however if you want more a more concentrated bronzed look then I would use the Elf mineral Power brush. For blush I dusted a bit of the Bourjois blush in Rose D’Or with an Elf Blush Brush to add bit of colour to my cheeks. As this look is relatively matte I felt the need to add a sheen, so I used the Sleek Face Form Kit in light and I swept a small amount of the highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones with a Real Techniques Duo Fibre Contour brush to make sure I don’t apply too much.
For the most exciting part, eyes. I used the Maybelline colour tattoo in On & On Bronze as a base and put the similar shade but in a powder form all over the eyelids. In the crease and for a blend out colour I used two plumb/ bronze toned shadows. To really make this look smokey I used a tiny amount of a matte black in the outer V. To help me create this eye look I sued the Real Techniques shading brush, Barry M eye shadow brush and an Elf crease brush. To top it all off I used volumising mascara - Bourjois Volume MAX.
Of course I filled in and highlighted my eyebrows as usual using the Rimmel Eyebrow pencil and MUA eye shadows in shades Chestnut and Fudge. And finally for lips I started off with lining and filling them in with the Collection Lip Liner in Pink and added a Wet n Wild matte lipstick on top (shade Sugar Plum Fairy).
Thank you so much for reading. Merry Christmas and if you don’t celebrate Christmas I hope you have a lovely day!
