Healing Sunburns

Hey everyone!

I’m probably not the only one who has been out in the sun and forgot to apply sunscreen but instead of a glowing tan has ended up looking like a lobster, so here are a few things I do to help sunburns and blisters:

First I like to take a cool yet very gentle bath, try to avoid showers because the force of water may make the blisters worse. By doing this, it will relieve pain do this for 10 to 20 minutes and pat or air dry because I guarantee using towel will be painful.

If you don’t want to take a cool bath you can always apply cold, wet compressions to the skin. Dampen a washcloth or towel with cold water and lay it over the affected skin for 20 to 30 minutes
Apply an Aloe Vera gel by patting NOT RUBBING. Aloe Vera is found in most pharmacies and drugstores.

Stay protected from the sun. Now that we have learnt from our mistakes try to stay out of the sun as much as possible. Stay in shade and don’t forget to apply SPF.

Makeup sure you stay hydrated and moisturise the skin as it is much damaged at this stage. I recommend the Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Fresh Body Lotion.

There are many more methods you could use that include apricots and baking soda. I hope this helped you guys! Read another blog post about sun protection.

Thanks for reading!
