Recipe For Basic Scones

Hey everyone!
So today I wanted to show you a recipe that I recently learnt and I think are amazing! I haven’t don’t a post about food for a while even though it is a VERY big part of my life.
These scones are perfect for snack on the go or for an afternoon tea plus they are really simple to make and absolutely delicious.
·         200g self-raising flour
·         50g butter (hard)
·         50g caster sugar
·         100ml milk
·         Milk to glaze with
·         Medium bowl
·         Measuring jug
·         Palette knife
·         Flutted cutter
·         baking tray
1.       Preheat the oven to 220°/Gas8
2.       Weigh the flour and butter into a mixing bowl
3.       Rub in the butter with your fingertips, until it look like fine breadcrumbs
4.       Stir in the sugar (or other ingredients)
5.       Gradually add in the milk and mix using a palette knife, until a soft dough is formed
6.       Turn the dough out; knead quickly and lightly until the dough is smooth. This should take about 30 seconds.
7.       Use your hands to press the dough out evenly to the thickness of about 2cm and cut into rounds
8.       Gently knead the scraps of dough together and repeat the process of pressing and cutting until all the dough is used
9.      Glaze with milk
10.      Place the scones on a flat baking tray and bake for 12-15 minutes. The scones should have risen, look golden and feel firm.
when your done you can always add spreads and here ive just decided to add some chocolate spread.

If you create these snacks please show them to me on either twitter or instagram using the hashtag #barelybrandedblog. Thanks for reading!!
